Thank you for visiting our website!  And welcome to St. George Greek Orthodox Church of Palm Desert, California.  Our parish was founded in 1978 by a small yet devoted group of Greek Orthodox communicants who, for many years, had longed to establish a parish in the Palm Desert area. Their faithful mission was not only to create a place of worship–through which they could participate fully in the Sacramental Life of our Greek Orthodox Christian Faith–but also to bring a Greek Orthodox Christian presence to this spiritually fertile desert community, nestled in the heart of Southern California's Coachella Valley.

The seed of faith that was planted in 1978 has, by the grace of God, blossomed into a thriving and dynamic parish. We offer a variety of inspiring ministries: from our dedicated Choir and charitable Ladies Philoptochos Society, to our Orthodox Bible Studies and Sunday School classes, as well as various other out-reach ministries, organized and run by our parishioners.

Sunday and weekday church services at St. George begin with the Orthros at 8:30 AM, followed by the Divine Liturgy at 9:30 AM. Visitors are always welcome.  If you plan on moving to the beautiful desert cities area, come and join our parish, take part in our positive ministry to God's glory, and witness for yourself this "Miracle in the Desert!"  May our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ always bless you.

PALM DESERT, CA - His Eminence, Metropolitan Gerasimos of San Francisco visited the St. George Greek Orthodox parish of Palm Desert, California on Sunday, January 22, 2012 and officially accepted for the parish a relic from St. Gerasimos of Cephalonia (a worn-out slipper from the Saint's vestments). His Eminence noted that this relic reminds us that God's grace works through everything about our existence as we dedicate our lives and the things in our lives for God's Glory and for the salvation of others. Pictured with His Eminence, Metropolitan Gerasimos of San Francisco, is the pastor of the St. George parish, Fr. Theodore Pantels. At the far left is the encased relic of St. Gerasimos of Cephalonia.
